Breast Conservation Surgery
Breast Conserving Surgery involves removal of the cancerous tissue with surrounding normal tissue to gain a clear margin. This procedure is also known as lumpectomy. The advantage of this procedure is that it maintains a woman’s breast form and body image preserving one’s self confidence. Breast conserving surgery is most often followed by radiotherapy to the breast. It might be helpful to you to feel more like yourself after the treatment of breast cancer. Breast-Conserving Surgery includes two types of procedures: (i) simple wide local excision and (ii) oncoplastic breast surgery.
