Self Breast Examination

• a. Every breast is different. Know your breast by routine self checks once a month. Once you know your normal, you will find it easier to pick up an early changes within your breasts.
• b. The right time to do a self breast examination is in the days following your menstrual cycle.
• c. The right way to do it is to inspect the breast and armpits in front of the mirror with your hands raised above your head. Then either in sitting or lying down position use the flat of your four fingers to palpate your breasts, nipple and areolar. Do not forget to palpate your armpits.
